Parent-Teacher Association

Our main objective is to raise funds for the school and finance projects that benefit both school and its pupils. The PTA has raised money to fund the purchase of items currently used in school.

A few examples of these are:-

  • Purchase and maintenance of the school mini bus used.
  • The purchase and installation of a roll down projection screen.
  • The purchase of equipment and kit for the school Football and Rugby Teams, cameras, food processor, notice board, benches, etc.

We organise many events throughout the year – year 7 and 8 discos, Christmas fairs, fashion show, car boot sale, cosmetics parties, auctions and raffles etc. We also provide help at school events such as parent’s evenings, open evenings, showcases, presentation and award evenings, information evenings and provide light refreshments.

The PTA also operates a 200 Club, which is well supported – but there is always room for new members – half the money is paid out as cash prizes – the other half goes towards fundraising.

We are always looking for new members to come along and bring with them some fresh ideas on fundraising. The dates of the meetings are in your child’s planner.

  • PTA Chair Person - Mrs Lorna Beech
  • PTA Secretary - Miss Jacquie Vose
  • PTA Treasurer - Mrs Vicky Haye

Barclays Bank used to sponsor events £ for £, if any parents work for companies operating a similar donation or sponsorship scheme they would be most welcome to attend the PTA meetings and much needed.

Please contact Mrs Warren at school if you are interested in becoming a PTA member or just want to come and see what it is all about.

Christmas Fair 2011

Thank you to pupils, staff, prefects, family and friends for making our first event in the new build a great success.  Our combined efforts enabled us to raise a massive £1200 – wow!

Thank you to all companies who donated towards the raffle – they include; Linnyshaw Garden Centre, Wilkinson’s, XL Office Supplies, McDonalds, Beauty Queens, Blackpool Pleasure Beach, Bridgewater Hall, Novotel, Flower Frenzy, Liberty’s Hair Design, Molly’s, Rainbow Florist, Reform Hair & Beauty, Tesco, Sweetilicious, Swinton Travel & Morris Quality Bakers.

Help the Heroes had a stall at the Christmas Fair and they managed to raise £60.10 and they are still collecting.  Well done to Chalie Jones, Eldar Yifrah and Naihan Shaikh.

The day was most enjoyable.  If you would like to be part of the school PTA Team please contact Mrs Warren at school.

Merry Christmas and we hope to see you in the New Year!
