Parents "Getting Involved"

The move from primary to secondary school is an exciting time for children as they step from one phase of education into another – a new phase that leads to increased independence in learning, and presents new challenges and fresh opportunities to achieve and make progress. The video and resources below (released by the Governments Department for Children, Schools and Families - DCSF) are designed to help parents and carers to get involved in their children's learning.

Getting Involved helps you, as parents and carers, to continue the successful role played in your children's education so far. You might wish to view the video yourself first, before watching with your child. Use it as the basis for discussing how you can continue to support them as they start their new school, and help them to make the most of the new opportunities.
