Up and Coming Projects:
Walkden High School's Year 9 G&T have teamed up with BBC 21cc and Chatsworth High. The project will develop a wide variety of skills and introduce new ways of thinking. During the project the pupils will be using cutting edge multi-media technology complimenting traditional learning methods.
Pupils will be adding their finished videos, pictured and their own thoughts on the process soon.
In March our Year 7 G&T will be visiting Manchester Museum Of Science and Industry to take part in a science detective event. During the activity pupils will work with 'real-life' police, solicitors and forensic scientists. They will be using thinking and problem-solving skills to "crack a crime" and will take part in practical expermients. Our Year 7s will also have the opportunity to explore the new "Da Vinci - The Genius" 3D exhibition.
G&T Dance students from mixed year groups have been offered a unique opportunity to gain valuable experience at Bolton College with some of the industry's professionals. Places were limited and we are proud that so many of our pupils were offered a place - Walkden High have potential stars in the making!!
Our Year 9 and 10 G&T will be visiting The University of Manchester in March. Through a variety of workshops, pupils will gain a valuable insight into life at University. Students will be given the opportunity to speak to student ambassadors who will offer advice and guidance to further education.
