Exams & Exam Performance

February Mock Exams for Year 11 and some Year 10 students: Monday 25th February to Wednesday 6th March 2013.

Your son/daughter should have a copy of the timetable and information for students for the second round of mock exams for Year 11 and some Year 10 candidates. This second round is to show how students have improved since the November Mocks and will help teaching staff fine-tune their revision and exam entries for Summer 2013. Please see attachments.

Summer 2013 Years 10 & 11 GCSE exams:

The process has already started and parents/carers should receive in the post an information pack including an individual Statement of Entry showing which subjects a candidate has been entered for and at what Tier (Foundation or Higher) where tier of entry applies.

This and other information was sent out during the week commencing 28th January and you have until Monday 18th February, the day we come back after Half Term, to respond . Parents/carers/candidates have the opportunity to query the tier of entry and amendments are made up to the end of March. Please make sure the school has up-to-date information regarding addresses and contact numbers. Please make sure you complete and return the yellow sheet enclosed in the pack. Keep all the other information at home.

Please be aware that these examinations are public examinations and the rules set by  the awarding bodies (AQA, Edexcel, OCR and WJEC) apply. To help you understand what our expectations are in terms of conduct in the exam room I have included at the bottom of this page a series of important documents. Each of these documents is updated every year and the latest ones were included in your exam entry pack.

Good communication between home and school is a key part in helping your child achieve their best in each examination. If you have any queries about examinations your child will take this year, please do not hesitate to contact me on my direct number: 0161 975 8010.

Summer 2013 Generic Examination Timetable:

By Easter 2013 students will bring home their own individual timetable showing when they have their own exams. In the meantime you can identify when your child has an exam by opening the file below.

Sport & Active Leisure Diploma:
